With over 25 years of experience in transformer installation and maintenance, Southern Power Maintenance (SPM) has built a strong reputation for precision, safety, and reliability. Our expertise has earned us the trust of both national utilities and global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
SPM’s past work with SIEMENS is a testament to our capability to deliver high-quality, technically demanding projects in collaboration with global industry leaders. These projects reflect our deep technical proficiency and ability to meet rigorous standards in complex power environments.
Building on this foundation, SPM is gearing up for a new project with WEG, which is set to begin at the end of April. This upcoming collaboration further reinforces our position as a trusted service provider to OEMs and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors, particularly within South Africa’s growing renewable energy and transmission sectors.
SPM is also proud to be working with the National Transmission Company of South Africa (NTCSA)—formerly Eskom Transmission—on one of its major infrastructure initiatives. As part of the NTCSA Project, we are currently installing a 500 MVA transformer, one of the largest of its kind in the country. This significant milestone highlights SPM’s ability to manage complex, high-voltage installations for critical national infrastructure.
These achievements underscore SPM’s technical capability, consistent delivery, and our role in supporting the evolving needs of South Africa’s energy sector. As the country accelerates investment in renewable energy and transmission networks, SPM stands ready to contribute through expert service, long-term reliability, and a proven track record.
We welcome opportunities to partner with OEMs and EPCs looking for a dependable, experienced team for large transformer installations and turnkey transmission support services.
